On June 3, 2016, associates from Life Care Center of Blount County in Louisville, Tennessee, attended the 23rd Annual BRAVO! Awards luncheon.

The BRAVO! Awards are a part of Keep Blount Beautiful, an affiliate of Keep America Beautiful. The awards recognize local businesses that strive to improve the community through beautification efforts that reflect a positive image to citizens and visitors. Life Care Center of Blount County won the BRAVO! Award for 2016. The awards luncheon was held at Barley’s restaurant in Maryville, Tennessee, where the facility was presented with a plaque, as well as a lawn marker that will be displayed at the front entrance of the facility for a year.

Jennifer Solomon, vice president of parent company Life Care Centers of America’s Appalachian Region; Josh Kota, regional rehab director; and Cindy Bolduc, director of business development at the facility, attended the luncheon and accepted the award on behalf of Life Care Center of Blount County.

“It was a great event, and as a facility we are blessed to win this award,” shared Bolduc. “It is our first year in existence, and everyone has worked hard to make the facility look beautiful both inside and out.”

Associates at the facility were surprised to be nominated. Someone in the community has to nominate a business for the award, and then the judging panel visits unannounced to view the business. Life Care Center of Blount County was nominated anonymously.

The judges for this year’s event were given a tour of the grounds and courtyards, and associates answered questions in regards to the plants and landscaping. The judges presented pictures of the nominated businesses and spoke about each facility to the group of approximately 60 people who attended the luncheon.

When discussing Life Care Center of Blount County, one judge voiced that it didn’t look like a typical nursing facility, but was more of a resort atmosphere. She talked at length about the different plants and colors used, the beautiful signage and the indoor courtyards.

Bolduc accepted the award and was able to thank the judges and attendees, as well as Keep Blount Beautiful, for recognizing Life Care Center of Blount County as a BRAVO! Award winner.
