Bonnie Simek, a resident at Life Care Center of Blount County in Louisville, Tennessee, has had a life full of travel, and now her story is featured in a national magazine.
Life Care Centers of America runs more than 200 skilled nursing and rehab centers around the country and publishes a handful of residents’ life stories each year in its LEADER magazine. Simek’s story was recently published in the 2016 edition.
Born in the rural town of Charlotte, Michigan, in 1927, Simek has lived a life abundant in courage and risk-taking. At 18, Simek agreed to marry a man she had only known for two days. Her husband’s position in the military required the couple to relocate often. So often, in fact, that Simek can account for 66 moves throughout her lifetime.
