On April 28, 2016, Alz Tennessee, an Alzheimer’s advocacy and support organization in the state, held its annual Caring Hearts awards banquet for the Knoxville area.
Each health care facility in the area, as well as emergency service providers, dialysis clinics and assisted living facilities, were asked to nominate one employee as their Caring Hearts Caregiver of the Year. All these men and women were honored at the banquet.
Life Care Center of Blount County in Louisville, Tennessee, chose Wanda Bowman, a certified nursing assistant, to represent the facility. Bowman has been a CNA for numerous years.
“Wanda is very patient, kind and compassionate with everyone she cares for, but especially with those with dementia,” said Cindy Bolduc, business development director. “Wanda remains calm and loving. She is always willing to help her co-workers and goes above and beyond on an everyday basis. Life Care Center of Blount County is proud to have employees like Wanda in our facility.”
Bowman said she was surprised and honored to receive the Caring Hearts Award.
